Tony Bohling, Member
Picture of Tony Bohling

Tony moved to Delta in 1972 with his parents and siblings, where he graduated from Delta High School in 1979. He continued his education at Western State College where he graduated with a Comprehensive BA in Physical Education in 1985. He did his elementary student teaching at both Lincoln and Garnet Mesa Elementary Schools in Delta. At the same time, he did his secondary student teaching at Cedaredge High School where he coached football and basketball for four years. In 1987, because of a lack of teaching openings in the area at the time, Tony took a position with the City of Delta Parks Department to be able to pay his student loans. 33 years later, he retired as the Parks Manager.

Education runs deep in the Bohling family. His wife Amy has been a Kindergarten teacher for Delta County School District for 30 years. Their daughter Hattie has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and teaches in Fort Collins. Their son Matthew was an accomplished musician and Music Education Major at Colorado Mesa University and now teaches elementary school music in Grand Junction. Even his grandmother taught in a one room schoolhouse at his birthplace of Meade, Kansas in the early 1900's. Tony is excited to reconnect with his passion for education by working on the school board to serve Delta County students, teachers, staff, parents, and taxpayers. It is Tony's goal to help provide students and staff with a safe and caring educational environment and to see that the children of Delta County will be best prepared to walk into a challenging and different world than he grew up in.

Kristina Hines, Board Secretary
Picture of Kristina Hines

Kristina Hines was elected to Delta County School Board in November of 2021.

Kristina is originally from Arizona, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Arizona State University. Kristina and her family moved to Delta in 2014. Her husband, David Hines, was born and raised in Delta, and they wanted to raise their boys in a small town, where they could enjoy the outdoors and country lifestyle. Both their children attend schools in the Delta County. She and her husband are active in the community.

Kristina saw a need to be more active in her children’s education and feels her business administration experience can be valuable to the board in making meaningful decisions and budgets.  It is her goal to make decisions that positively impact all the students and staff of Delta County District Schools. She feels she would bring diversity to the school board because she can bring a different point of view on issues that impact the students and community. She believes that in order to be an effective member of the board you need to be to team player, but also be willing to step up and do what is best for the students and staff in Delta County.
